Noyce keeps things moving at breakneck speed and delivers some thrilling action sequences, whether it's Salt leaping from truck to truck, jumping down a lift shaft or fashioning a makeshift rocket launcher out of a table leg, a fire extinguisher and some cleaning products The Toxic Avenger HD. There's a lot of talking here, and really only three (admittedly gargantuan) action pieces to liven things up. Part of the problem of Iron Man 2 is that the film has to deal with the repercussions of the post-credits scene from the first Iron Man movie, when Jackson's superspy Nick Fury tries to recruit Iron Man for the Avengers Initiative, a superhero team that will presumably protect America from grave threats. Too much of Iron Man 2 is a response to that scene and an obvious build toward the expanding slate of Marvel movies-next year will see the debut of the Thor and Captain America movies, with an Avengers movie following the year after that-that would be meaningless without the metaknowledge that Marvel is planning a team-up movie in the near future The Toxic Avenger HD. There's no payoff for any of it here, and the movie concentrates so much on future franchise developments that the actual climactic battle is a huge disappointment The Toxic Avenger HD. If "Iron Man 2" doesn?t join the long list of improved sequels, it?s partially a testament to the deft manner in which the first film handled Tony Stark?s updated origin The Toxic Avenger HD. Iron Man arrived in theaters largely unknown to the general audience The Toxic Avenger HD. With an origin story not burdened down by mythology and pop culture awareness like Supes?, director Jon Favreau was able to treat Stark?s transformation into a super-hero in a pragmatic way that he seamlessly integrated into the plot The Toxic Avenger HD. Though quite long, the origin wasn?t a prolonged foreword that led into the "real" story, but dropped us slam-bang into continuity The Toxic Avenger HD. Ah, you say, but what of Maid Marion? In this telling, Marion (Cate Blanchett) is not a maid but a widow, and not a merry one The Toxic Avenger HD. At one point she threatens to unman Robin with her dagger, which is unlike the Maid Marions I've known and loved The Toxic Avenger HD. Blanchett plays the role with great class and breeding, which is all wrong, I think The Toxic Avenger HD. She's the kind of woman who would always be asking Robin, "Why do you let that smelly so-called friar hang around you like a fanboy?" The Toxic Avenger HD
