What is most stunning about ÓThe Last AirbenderÔ is the fact that there is not a single element on display that even remotely works for an instant The Last Word HD. With an ordinary bad film, I can usually go through and find something that appealed to me--a oddball performance here, a quirky line of dialogue there or just the presence of a pretty face--but there is nary an aspect to this one that didnÒt crash and burn before my eyes The Last Word HD. Having never seen the original TV series, I cannot attest as to how closely the two match up (my sneaky suspicion is that they bear little resemblance to each other) but I have to guess that there was more to it in its original incarnation than this incoherent jumble of every kid-on-a-sacred-quest epic that you have endured in the last decade jammed into a template that suggests what ÓThe Fifth ElementÔ might have been like without the lucid plotting or keen fashion sense The Last Word HD. Despite having gotten a number of impressive performances from the child actors he has employed over the years, Shyamalan gets nothing from the bland and instantly forgettable brood that he has collected here while better-known performers like Patel(thoroughly squandering his post-ÓSlumdog MillionaireÔ boost) and Cliff Curtis simple embarrass themselves The Last Word HD. The fight scenes are indifferently staged cacophonies of chaos in which it is impossible to tell what is going on at any given time and which move so slowly that they feel as if they are all taking place underwater The Last Word HD. The big climax is so poorly executed that when it is over, most viewers will probably assume that it was just the buildup to the real climax that, alas, never quite comes around The Last Word HD. Instead, in an act of hubris so massive that it marks the only time in the entire film where it feels like Shyamalan is actually in charge of the proceedings, the story just kind of abruptly ends and we are treated to a blatant and not particularly edifying set-up for the sequel that he apparently expects that audiences will be clamoring to see The Last Word HD. This is doubly infuriating because a.) it fails to bring the story that we have been watching for nearly two hours to any sort of conclusion and b The Last Word HD.) the follow-up is unlikely to ever be made since the moment that the public gets a load of this one, Shyamalan is going to be sent off to the movie jail version of Elba and it will be a long, long time before any studio entrusts him with the money required to buy a carton of smokes, let alone a feature film The Last Word HD. Personally though I think the director (Phillip Noyce) should be to blame The Last Word HD. With a talent such as Angelina he could have better suited his film to fit what she brings to the table. He does that with Schreiber who brings a killer job to his role The Last Word HD. But the rest of the film weaves in and out too much The Last Word HD. One moment you are caught up in the story and the next thrown out due to some badly fitted action scene. Iron Man 2 is fun, funny and exciting The Last Word HD. It clocks in at a little over two hours, but is never dull The Last Word HD. There are plenty of nice little touches for comic book fans (keep an eye out for Captain America's shield), but it's not so fan-boyish that general audiences will feel left out The Last Word HD. Favreau has managed to deliver a sequel that is easily the equal of the original film - let's hope he can do it again in a couple of years with Iron Man 3 The Last Word HD. But that isn't entirely true The Last Word HD. Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy, Silent Hill) has a small role as nasty movie producer Bennett The Last Word HD. And while I'm thankful that he was there, I have to wonder what he's doing in a project so far beneath him The Last Word HD. The plot is just enough to pin a string of battles on: at the behest of a CIA front-man (Willis), the Expendables are dispatched to overturn the rotten government of a tin-pot state called Vilena, where a suavely evil American drugs baron, James Munroe (Eric Roberts) is bullying a weak general (David Zayas) into enacting various forms of oppression The Last Word HD.
