Perhaps it's for that reason that a movie that starts out with the potential to be great somehow falls short, and what seems as if it's going to be a revelation ends up, instead, simply a worthwhile, reasonably interesting variation on an old theme. Part of what makes Pixar such a great studio is that they bring genuine depth to their animated characters. Woody, Buzz and the rest seem like real people in a way that most cartoon characters never manage to be House of the Dead movie. Determined to bring the dead man's sword back to his kin in Nottingham, Robin encounters the man's aging father, Sir Walter Loxley (Max von Sydow), and his comely daughter-in-law Marion (Cate Blanchett) House of the Dead movie. It is Sir Walter's idea for Robin to continue in his guise as his son since the family may lose its 5,000 acres if his son's death becomes known.
